Yay! You have fresh, new brows! Following the aftercare on this page will help you to achieve the best possible results.
We will go over all of the aftercare at the time of your session – but if you have any questions in the meantime don’t hesitate to reach out to Wink!
Brow cleaning routine
- Wash your brow area gently 3-5 times a day (every 4-6 hours) with lukewarm water and a disposable paper towel. You do not want to get your brows too wet or wash too hard because you do not want to pull off any scabs.
- Pat dry the area and apply a very thin layer of barrier cream (we will provide that to you).
- Always make sure your hands are clean when touching or getting near your brows and always keep your brow area clean.
What to expect after your session
- Your brows may seem dark when you leave your session and even darker the next day. Don’t panic! This initial effect is from the pigment sitting in the open skin and the next day from scabs forming. This is completely normal and can last up to a week after your session.
- You can take Ibuprofen or Aspirin after your session although it’s unlikely you will need this. Your brows may be a little tender, but you should be fine to go out and about after your session.
- Itching, scabbing, and flaking are possible and normal. As much as you may want to, please do not itch or pick at your brows! If you do, any scabs that come off when they are not ready will take the underlying pigment off with them. Allow the scabs to fall off naturally.
- The true color of your cosmetic tattoo from microblading will not be completely evident until at least six weeks after your initial session. Please be patient and allow them to heal fully! You may be surprised at how much color resurfaces by week six. We cannot make any adjustments until that time.
What not to do after your session
- Do not put any makeup on or around your brows for the first 2 weeks.
- Do not use Vaseline, Neosporin, or any other products in your home on your brows. We will provide you with everything you need for successful healing!
- Do not have any eyebrow services done for one month following your session (threading, tinting, tweezing, etc.).
- Do not apply any anti-acne or anti-aging products to the face while your cosmetic tattoo from microblading is healing. This includes but is not limited to Retin-A, Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Lactic or Glycolic Acids, Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic Acid, Proactiv, hydroquinone, etc.
- No sweating or exercising for 10-14 days after your session.
- No hot tubs, baths, swimming pools, saunas, steam rooms, or immersing yourself in any body of water for two weeks after your session.
- Do not splash water on your face or fully submerge your face in water for 2 weeks. Do not let the shower spray directly on your face for 2 weeks.
