If you would like to have your brows enhanced with semi-permanent makeup – then you are a good candidate for microblading! You must be 18 or older to have microblading done at Wink.
If you sometimes feel self-conscious about your natural brows due to thinning or having missing sections in your brows – microblading is the best choice to solve this. It is one of the latest trends in the fashion and makeup industry, and that’s because people like the look of their brows after microblading.
Microblading is also perfect for people who have lost their eyebrows due to an illness or chemotherapy. These people can regain natural-looking eyebrows in just a couple of hours.
You’ll want to avoid oil-based products, especially oil-based make-up removers, when you have lash extensions.
Any semi-permanent makeup procedure is NOT recommended to be done while a cancer patient is undergoing treatment. The immune system is extremely compromised at this time and can lead to healing complications and even infection.
Typically you cannot feel the eyelash extensions once applied since they simply provide an enhancement to your natural eyelashes.
You will need to wait 24 hours before getting your lashes wet after any appointment when lash extensions were applied. Getting your lashes wet after your service will halt the curing process of the adhesive and may greatly effect the retention of your lashes.
The reaction varies person to person, so it’s not the same for everyone. The majority of clients don’t feel a thing since we use numbing agents throughout the whole service. The first numbing agent sits on the skin for 20 minutes, and the second numbing agent is used throughout the service. We are not going as deep as a tattoo, but we are still breaking the skin- so there may be some discomfort depending on pain tolerance.
This depends on your pain threshold, but we do apply a numbing cream initially and throughout the procedure to help keep you as comfortable as possible. You may still feel it a little, but you shouldn’t be in excessive pain.
Come to your appointment without wearing any eye makeup (no mascara, eyeliner or shadow). If you normally wear contacts, bring your case and glasses. For your first appointment, please arrive 5 minutes early to complete the necessary paperwork.
Cosmetic tattooing, including microblading, results in semi-permanent makeup. With cosmetic tattoos and microblading, pigment is placed under the skin but it doesn’t go as deep as a normal tattoo. In time the cosmetic tattoo will fade and disappear. This is why it’s referred to as semi-permanent make-up rather than permanent make-up.
Since each lash extension is attached to a single eyelash, they will fall out naturally over time following the growth cycle for each natural lash. Exact timing varies, but most women’s eyelashes shed every 2-3 months (2-4 lashes per day). At Wink we recommend a re-lash every two to three weeks.
Touch ups can also be done at any time as needed. A Touch up is used when someone is not quite ready for a re-lash. A touch up is typically for people who have recently gotten a full set and just need a touch up before a special event.
If annual touchups are done, the semi-permanent makeup can last for as many years as you desire. Young skin has more cell turnover, so the chances of needing an annual touch up is greater than mature skin that has less cell turnover and therefore holds pigment longer.
Oily skin tends to push pigment out faster than normal to dry skin, and this can impact how often touch-ups are needed.
If touch-ups are not used, the semi-permanent makeup will last 1-3 years, depending on skin type and lifestyle.
Applying a full set of lash extensions takes from 1 hour 15 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes. The time varies depending on the amount of coverage and the level of experience of your lash technician.
The semi-permanent makeup process is scheduled for 4 hours at the most. The time needed varies by service, the least being the Freckles which we schedule for 2 hours.
Without getting any touch ups, your semi-permanent makeup from microblading should last 2-3 years. However, everyone is different and yours may fade faster or you may hold on to it a little longer. We recommend getting yearly touch ups to keep your brows looking perfect!
This depends on many factors. For microblading, we HIGHLY suggest you schedule a touchup 6-8 weeks after your initial appointment. At your second session, we can adjust pigment and shape as needed. If your cosmetic tattoo does not heal the way you expected after the first session, don’t panic! We can adjust everything in the second session!
After that, most clients do not need to come in again until 1 year after their initial appointment. Some clients have better pigment retention than others and some may need more than one touch up per year. Each person’s body processes pigment differently. This cannot be predicted and how often touch ups are needed is not guaranteed.
First, get excited! Don’t be nervous, we will walk you through the whole procedure and answer any questions you may have.
For your safety and satisfaction, it is very important that you carefully read Wink’s policies regarding microblading before making an appointment. These policies include a list of medical protocols which cover things like what medicines that must not be taken prior to a microblading session. We do not recommend wearing mascara with lash extensions.
No, this is a semi-permanent tattoo. The semi-permanent makeup artist is only going to the 3rd layer of the epidermis. Also, the pigments used are different than permanent tattoo pigments, as they are made to fade over time.
Yes! We take pride in keeping our microblading work station very clean and sterile. All needles and supplies are single-use and disposable, so you know nothing that is touching you has touched someone else. We use disposable gloves and will change them multiple times throughout your procedure. Everything that is used during your appointment is laid out for you to see and your artist will show you everything before use. We disinfect our stations between each and every client and always at the beginning and end of the day.
Wonderful! Our first step is scheduling a free consultation where you and your artist will go over your semi-permanent makeup goals and also make sure you are a good candidate for semi-permanent makeup. After that we will schedule your appointment!
Microblading fills out or reshapes your eyebrows by drawing on tiny lines that look like individual hairs. Microblading leaves brows looking natural, but enhanced.
Microblading is a form of cosmetic tattooing. Cosmetic tattooing results in semi-permanent makeup. Microblading is the process of implanting pigment just beneath the surface of the skin for creating light, wispy hair strokes in your brow area to enhance your natural brows. Microblading gives your brows a unique and fabulous look that is not possible with any other procedure. Your brows look sharper, cleaner, and more beautiful. And if you desire it, they can also look fuller. Brows can be sized and color-enhanced to your preferences.
OMBRE BROWS/POWDER BROWS: Ombré shading is a semi-permanent eyebrow styling technique that uses a small machine to place extremely thin dots of pigment into the skin, creating a soft-shaded brow pencil look. The Powder Brows technique is the same, it’s just a matter of how much you want layered. Powder Brows will give more of a solid color throughout.
MICROBLADING BROWS: A hand-held tool is used with a very fine blade to draw individual hairs on your skin. This creates the visual impression of full and perfectly shaped, beautiful eyebrows. This natural-looking technique creates super-fine hair strokes that last 1 to 2 years with proper care.
COMBO BROWS: Microblading + Shading results in Combo Brows to give you natural-looking yet well-defined brows all at once. You get the best of both worlds! Combo Brows are great for people with little to no eyebrows, or those with asymmetrical eyebrows. This service achieves a fuller and natural look.
For all of the above brow services, a touch-up is needed within 4-6 weeks after your initial semi-permanent makeup session.
We will send you home with aftercare instructions that covers what to expect. Overall you will have scabbing and itching consistent with a scratch. After that phase is over the healing is fairly simple. Just make sure to avoid the things your artist advises you to stay away from while healing (examples: direct sunlight, saunas, tanning beds, scratching or itching the area serviced).
Besides semi-permanent brows (Ombre Brows, Microblading, and Combo), Wink offers the semi-permanent makeup services described below.
LIP BLUSHING: This minimally invasive lip pigmentation service creates the look of fuller, softly-tinted lips. There are no harsh lines or unnatural colors used. We use a semi-shear light pink pigment that allows your natural undertones to show through. This results in the most natural color – one that’s unique and a perfect match to you. It’s fabulous for anyone – clients looking to enhance their already beautiful lips, clients who’ve lost pigmentation over the years, clients with scars or asymmetry – you name it!
LASH LINE ENHANCEMENT: Similar to semi-permanent eye liner, the pigment is implanted between the lashes just along the lash line. This gives really beautiful definition to the eyes while maintaining a more natural look. This service is perfect for people who wear little to no makeup and are looking to enhance their eyes without appearing to be wearing any makeup at all.
FRECKLES: The technique, called freckling, involves depositing pigment under your skin, creating semi-permanent freckles. Semi-permanent pigmentation lasts anywhere from six months to a year.
Touch-ups are important as it’s the perfecting section! They are recommended 4-6 weeks after your initial appointment. It is best to make minor adjustments after healing from your initial appointment.
Periodic touch-ups insure that the results will last for years if that is your goal. Annual touch-ups are important, as the semi-permanent makeup is meant to fade over time. Touch-ups will insure results and pigment stay consistent.
When applied properly, lash extensions are safe and won’t harm the health of your natural lashes.
You should not rub your eyes or tug or pull on the extensions because this can cause lash loss and even damage to your natural lashes.
